Over the years, it has relied increasingly on the Crifo quality mark to elevate its labels, boasting denominations of international interest such as Castel del Monte DOP, Castel del Monte DOCG, Puglia IGP.<\/span><\/p>\n The first two, in particular, are obtained from wines produced in a vast area around the historic Federician castle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But before talking about the production of Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia, we know the characteristics of this denomination, some details about the disciplinary and we make clear between DOP, DOC and IGP.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Differences between DOP and DOC<\/b><\/p>\n It is allowed to use both indications, with the significant difference that for bottles intended for export it is necessary to use the protected designation of origin, or DOP, just like in the case of the Castel del Monte Dop of various Crifo labels. This makes it clear how (unlike the old legislation), today the distinction between DOP and DOC protects companies in positioning on European markets, as well as nationally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Moreover, Protected Designation of Origin and Controlled Designation of Origin presuppose a more stringent method of production than other disciplinary: cultivation, processing and maturation of grapes (of wine for DOC) must take place in a specific territory.<\/span><\/p>\n IGP, meaning and characteristics\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n For what concerns the PGI, unlike DOC and DOP,\u00a0 it is enough that one of the three stages of production (cultivation, processing and maturation of grapes) is carried out in a certain place to obtain the Protected Indication of Origin, it is the case of IGP Puglia mark. Due to the abundance of details, regulations sometimes suffer exceptions, in case a phase (such as bottling, in the case of wines) is carried out in other locations in Italy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The DOC has been traditionally used in the wine sector since 1966, while since 2010 the large DOP family has been extended to the entire agri-food sector. The IGP is also attributed to all agri-food products.<\/span><\/p>\n The necessary distinctions are a clarification that can be useful to the consumer to understand the chosen direction to position the Crifo brand towards values of quality and credibility of the production of Cantina Ruvo di Puglia.<\/span><\/p>\n The top DOP, IGP and DOCG wines of Crifo brand<\/b><\/p>\n The production procedural guideline of Castel del Monte DOC counts\u00a0 a long list of denominations that owe their name to the type of vine used for the winemaking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In particular to Castel del Monte Dop, are dedicated 11 of the most important red, white and rose Crifo wines, included in the main product lines such as the Grifone line, top of the league of the Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia dedicated to large-scale distribution, Terre del Crifo line and Cryfus sparkling wines.<\/span><\/p>\n This is because Castel del Monte DOC wines are produced in different types: the main is red, in lesser quantities ros\u00e9 and white, and originates from vines such as Nero di Troia, Cabernet and Aglianico, Bombino Bianco and Nero, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and can also be Riserva.<\/span><\/p>\n The first one is produced with Bombino Nero, whereas the last two are produced with Nero di Troia in different percentages.<\/span><\/p>\n The Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia has dedicated to the production of Castel del Monte Docg two Augustale labels, respectively Augustale Castel del Monte Bombino Nero DOCG single variety and Augustale Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva DOCG monovarietal.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n This means that under the brand IGP Puglia white wines are born, also sparkling, overripe grapes and raisin wine; red wines, also sparkling, overripe grapes, raisin wine and novello (young wine); rose also sparkling and novello.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Under the Puglia IGP mark there are 13 Crifo labels,\u00a0 including the entire Bag in Tube line, the 3-liter sizes in the special patented bag.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The production of important wines with Protected Designation of Origin, Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin, Protected Geographical Indication of Cantina di Ruvo di Puglia is wide and vast.
